Mission to Ethiopia – March 2018

Our first mission of the year in Ethiopia led us to Gheralta area – North Tigray with the aim to introduce health professionals to procedures and techniques to manage emergency situations, to recognize and assist people with sudden loss of conscience, pulmonary block or a heart attack.

A first training session was held at the Gheralta Lodge. The BLSD course for doctors and nurses, conducted by Christian Manzi and Ascanio Giannini, was held in a classroom of the Hawzen Hospital.

We produced a short video from this experience where a young doctor that took part to the training illustrates doctors and nurses how to perform pulmonary rehabilitation.

This was an important experience both for Milena’s staff and for the health professionals that followed the course.
