A HEART FOR ALL FAMILIES
MEETINGS WITH PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
Cardiomyopathies are heart diseases associated to problems of the cardiac function, are often genetic and are not broadly known. It is a group of diseases in which the heart muscle is damaged and is not able to perform its vital functions appropriately.
In recent years numerous genetic and biochemical defects have been identified causing some forms of cardiomyopathy. While, secondary forms can be a consequence of viral infections, arterial hypertension of long duration, heart valve diseases, coronary artery disease etc.
Milena NGO has, therefore, promoted the organization of meetings between families of patients affected by cardiomyopathies and medical experts in order to broaden and disseminate the knowledge related to these diseases.
The events are held annually and represent a major opportunity for the dialogue between doctors, patients and their families.
